Accreditation Application Instructions
An organization seeking initial accreditation from ABSNC must submit an electronic Letter of Intent to the ABSNC office at info@absnc.org. The letter must be submitted at least 90 calendar days before application submission. To meet application submission requirements, programs must have a minimum of 100 certificants or have been active for a period of one year.
The application process is designed to allow the applicant organization to demonstrate a certification program meets each ABSNC Standard. A copy of the application instructions for the application process at absnc.learningbuilder.com are provided. As per policy, an organization has three attempts to substantiate an application for approval of a certification program.
If accreditation or reaccreditation cannot be recommended by the Review Team after the third review an appeal may be permitted, or the organization may reapply and submit additional application fees. However, if upon initial review an application is determined by the review team to have provided insufficient evidence to support a significant number of the standards, the application will be returned to the organization without further review. The organization will be provided with a six-month window in which to address compliance with the standards. A fee of $250 will be assessed for the extended window.
Beginning on January 1, 2024, all applications will be submitted on the ABSNC Certification Management Platform. Organizations with currently accredited programs, that have applications due between January 1, 2024 and July 1, 2024, will be offered a one-time 6-month submission extension.
Once an initial application is approved, accreditation fees must be submitted.
